A timeless work of art, Meghadootam is a love letter from a man to his distant wife. Written by the famous Sanskrit poet Kalidasa, Meghadootam is a spectacular and pining ode to true love. The man is exiled by the God of Wealth and longs for his beautiful wife. This man doesn’t have a smartphone, Internet, or even mail. He calls upon a cloud to carry his message of love.Meghadootam is performed by dedicated artists – the music is performed and written by the Oscar nominated Bombay Jayashri Ramnath (Life of Pi). The performance is accompanied by the elegant dancers of the renowned Kalakshetra academy for Indian dance led and choreographed by famed and well known dancers Shijith Nambiar and Parvathy Menon. The reviews for Meghadootam are astounding: The Hindu calls Meghadootam “exquisite” and it “introduces beauty in unimaginable ways”. The Indian Express says that “adjectives may not suffice to explain this dance drama” which left audiences “rapt”.

This dance drama will be held on September 19th, 2014 at the Hart theater at the Egg Performing Arts Center in collaboration with the Cleveland Cultural Association. The performance begins at 7:30 PM and with social hour starting at 6.00 PM.
